Prof Viriri’s research areas include Computer Vision, Image Processing, Pattern Recognition, Deep Learning, Machine Learning, and other Image processing related areas such as (Biometrics, Medical Imaging, Nuclear Medicine, etc.). Prof Viriri is an NRF-rated researcher.


He has published extensively in several accredited Computer Vision and Image Processing journals, international and national conference proceedings. He serves as a reviewer for several accredited journals, and has served on program committees for numerous international and national conferences. He has graduated several MSc and PhD students.

Prof Viriri is currently looking for potential MSc and PhD students interested in his research areas.
